Richard Hannon's King Torus, a hugely impressive winner of the Vintage Stakes at Glorious Goodwood, could head to France for his next start.
Also triumphant in the Superlative Stakes at Newmarket, the Sir Robert Ogden-owned juvenile looks set for a trip to Longchamp for the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere on Arc weekend.
Coincidentally, his sire Oratorio won the French race in 2004.
"King Torus is entered in both the Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket and the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster, but we slightly favour going to Paris for a race which his father, Oratorio, won in 2004," said Hannon.
"King Torus has just got better and better and we were all impressed how well he stretched out when taking the Vintage Stakes by six lengths at Glorious Goodwood.
"He also won the Superlative at Newmarket's July meeting, so he has two Group twos in the bag and deserves a crack at a big one," he told his website, www.richardhannonracing.tv.
Chris Wall is likely to look to gain some black type for his progressive filly Wake Up Call.
The four-year-old landed her fourth victory from just seven starts at Yarmouth on Tuesday, after which the Listed Sceptre Stakes at the St Leger meeting was mooted as a possible target.
"She is progressing well and I suppose it depends on what the handicapper does if we thought we might have another go in another handicap," said Wall.
"On the other hand, from her value point of view, she does have quite a nice pedigree so to maximise her potential as a broodmare she probably needs to get some black type from somewhere.
"We'll be bearing that in mind. Especially with her being four already having missed her two-year-old career so we don't want to leave it too late.
"There are a few options and we'll see how it all pans out."
